The Cat Toy Story - DIY - How to make a cat happy

Hey everyone!
Gabriela asked me on my Facebook page if I could do a video based on pet DIYs. I thought it would be a fun idea to create this video about a cat-proven DIY toy!

This video is a bit different compared to my normal videos, but I hope you still enjoy it!

Also, if you want to try out this DIY with your cat, be sure to be careful with your cat. You know your cat better and how it reacts to little things. If your cat tend to eat everything and has to always be under control so it doesn't choke anything, you might be really careful with that! We've been using this toy for years and the cats loved it. They never tried to eat it or anything, they just wanted you to move it around so they can catch it!

Mother's Day Gift | Thinking out Loud

Every year I think about what gift video I can make for mother’s day. And every year I face the same exact problem, that I have no idea. 



And it’s not because I'm a bad person that doesn't gift anything to her mum on mother’s day. I used to create gifts when I was a kid since we were kinda expected that in school but it still felt somehow weird to us (mum and me). 

And since I moved out of my parents home we started this tradition that I visit them every Sunday. And since then I felt like we were spending real quality time together. I realised that it also helped us to develop a friendship that I now consider us friends as well. 

Usually when you live with your parents, you easily take the time for granted that you neglect things like that and I think that spending time consciously with your mum or just with your parents in general is far more rewarding than any gift you can make. You can do things you both like and eat food that brings back memories from your childhood or you can go visit places or go to a theatre. 

I think that experiencing things and being able to create memories together is a gift itself.

DIY: Pineapple & Strawberry Planters

Hey guys! In this cute and happy home decor series, I'm going to show how to make these pineapple and strawberry planters for succulents and other plants! They are easy and fun to make and make any room super cute!


Things you will need:

- Terracotta Pots (I used flower pots of two different sizes so I didn't have to replant the succulents. You can find them in flower shops or craft stores!)
- Haworthia Fasciata (or just other plants like Aloe Vera that look similar to the top of a pineapple)
- Haworthia Retusa
- Air-Drying Clay
- Acrylic Paint (Yellow, Red, Brown)
- Brushes in different sizes
- A ruler for the pineapple gaps (optional)

DIY: Succulent & Cactus Plants

Hey guys! Do you tend to kill all your plants that even desert plants would dry out in your home? If you can relate to that, this tutorial is perfect for you! Then in this video I will show you how to make these cute polymer clay succulent and cactus plants to decorate your room! They are super easy and fun to make. You can customize them by making them into any shape, colour and size so they can fit perfectly to your own personal style!









For these plants I used Fimo soft and Premo in different colours. Since you can decide what colours you would like to use, I didn't mention what exactly I have used. But if you would like to know the names, let me know!

DIY: Customized Candles - How to make Molds using Sand

Did you know that you can actually use sand to make customized moulds for candles using just sand? These candles are really fun and easy to make and you need just a few things to make them in any shape you want!



 






This might not be the best way to make candles, but it is so much fun! Be sure to not add too much crayons, if you want to colour your candles as they might have difficulties to burn properly. These candles are more for decoration purposes as most of the shapes I made, wouldn't burn till the end!

Hey everyone! Did you know that you can use drinking straws not only for drinking your favourite soda or milkshakes, but also for making colourful bracelets that are perfect for summer? They are so fun and easy to make, you won't believe it!

- Nylon Thread (I got mine from Ebay) You can also use shoelace or something else that is similar to this type of thread!

DIY: Soap Bubble Art | Personalize your Notebooks!

Hey guys! Playing with soap bubbles is so much fun! But did you know that you can paint with them as well? Today I'm going to show you how to create soap bubble art that you can use to decorate your notebooks, walls, home,  scrap booking projects and other things as well!

- Paper
- Acrylic paint (You can use tempera or watercolours, but in this case add water first, then your watercolours and then add the some into your cup!)
- Drinking straws
- Liquid dish / hand soap

Dreams & Walt Disney Inspirational Quote

I wanted to make a relaxing painting video for you guys showing cool painting tricks that you can use for creating unique results! I have listed all my materials and painting steps down below!

Materials I have used:
- Aquarell Watercolour Paper (Hahnemühle Fineart - Britannia 300g/m², rough, 24x32 cm / 9,4x12,6")
- MT Washi Tape
- Faber-Castell 2 1/2 HB
- Solo Goya Mask Paint for Acrylic and Aquarell
- Schmincke Watercolours
- da Vinci Junior Synthetics Brush (10)
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Solo Goya Triton Acrylic Paint in White
- Staedtler pigment liner 0.3
- Schneider Permanent Marker 1-3 mm



About the painting process:

  • I started with drawing a castle onto my watercolour paper. As a reference I used a silhouette picture of the castle that I found online. Then I created an outline with masking fluid. This will hold the wet colours in place and you don't have to worry about guidelines!
  • After the fluid was dry, I went ahead and added water to the paper for the wet on wet effect. This way you can create beautiful colour transitions!
  • Start with light colours! This way you can build up the colour intensity and also create beautiful layers!
  • To create the bubble effect, I used robbing alcohol. First I created one layer and let the colour dry, then added more colour. When the colour is still wet, add a few drops of rubbing alcohol on top! Be sure to wait for each layer to be dry before repeating this step!
  • Whenever I started with a new layer of colour, I tried to make the colours always darker then the last layer. This way when you add rubbing alcohol, the lighter layer will show up and create a pretty pattern!
  • I did that a few times, until I was happy with the dark shades of colours!
  • Then I just dripped different shades of colours to create splashes of colour! 
  • Since I always wanted to add a text onto the painting, I wrote the letters with acrylic paint and then wrote it again with a dark marker, so the quote was more visible.
I kinda preferred the painting without the quote to be honest, but I think without it might have looked a bit empty! You can add any colour you like of course! I didn't really think about what colour I should use, everything happened spontaneously!

DIY: Clay Fruit Bowls from Scratch - Watermelon, Orange, Lime

Hey guys! In this video I'm going to show you how to make watermelon, orange, lime/lemon bowls out of clay! This is the perfect summer project, since they are fun to make and also look so delicious! These bowls are just perfect for decorating anything in your home for summer! They are easy to make and you will need just a few things!


► Things you will need:

- Bowl for the mould
I tried different ways to find out what works best. And somehow almost every clay bowl I removed from a metal bowl, survived it! So I would recommend trying out different types of bowls!

- Rolling pin (Staedtler Fimo Acrylic Roller)
- Air dry clay (Staedtler Fimo Air Basic)
- Cutter/X-Acto knife
- Acrylic paint (Schmincke)
- Brushes

► Optional
- Pen for texture
- Aluminium foil for texture
- Aquapro professional varnish - N°2 Ultra Brilliant


The packaging of this glaze says the surface becomes food-safe after 3 coats, but I couldn't find any source that would say if that's really 100% food safe or not. There is another varnish by this brand called "Aquapro Satin Varnish", it's supposed to be an approved food-safe varnish, but after researching it, some sources said it might be not food safe after all. So I don't know what you can trust! I think it's okay to use the varnish, if the packaging says it's food-safe, but you still should be careful! So if you want to use the bowls for food, be sure to research the different types of the varnishes you are consider using for that.

► The process



► Alternative for the process
You guys can also place the clay inside the bowl by gently pressing down the clay so you get the shape of it. When the clay is dry, it will shrink a bit and it will be easier to remove the clay bowl from the bowl as it will detach from the bowl itself! When I tested that I used a metal bowl, and it was so easy to remove it. Even easier than when I placed it on top of the bowl! But I would suggest just trying it out! Since I got always different results!

Keep in mind, that the drying time depends on the clay you are using. I would check after a few hours, if the clay is dry enough to hold its shape, so you can remove it from the bowl. If you wait too long, it might impossible to remove the clay, without breaking it. :( 
But I can really recommend using metal bowls!

DIY: Emoji Soap - Easy! How to Melt & Pour Soap using Pictures

Hey guys!
Today I'm going to show you how to make easy melt & pour emoji soap, but also how to make soap with your favourite image/photo of something you like!

► Full list of things you will need
- Clear glycerin soap base (that has no oils in it to avoid a yellow cast and clouding in the end. We want the transparent soap as clear as possible)
- White glycerin soap base
- Moulds in the shape of your choice (Local Craft Store)
- Rubbing alcohol with at least 90% alcohol in it (German Ebay)
- Measuring cup http://amzn.to/1D8wfOM
- Soap colorants (optional)
- Soap fragrance
- Water soluble paper http://amzn.to/1HuPWRZ

Here I'm using sulky's water soluble paper that can be used with ink-jet printers but there are different brands that sell this type of paper so be sure to read their instructions before using it with your printer!



► Images I have used


For the size I used the measurements of my moulds and paper. So you might need to adjust everything so it fits your paper and moulds!

►Tips & Tricks

- I have tried different techniques and this one worked for me. When I waited for the clear layer to fully harden and then placed the image on top, no matter what, I still had too many bubbles underneath the picture. When I placed the picture right into the liquid clear layer, the image floated too much or sank. It also ruined a little bit the colours.
- Make sure the image you place on top of the first layer is fully wet afterwards. Spray on some more rubbing alcohol on top if it's not fully soaked in yet.
- When you placed the image on top of the clear layer, wait for it to fully harden, as the next layer could melt the top area and the white soap will sink through.
- Don't put the soap into the fridge!! I thought this way I can prevent the soap from sweating and help it to fully harden faster, but it actually just ruined the colours of the image! Everything turned blurry and the colours started to bleed! My soap is still in a perfect condition that just lies on the table!
- The images may fade or start being a bit blurry over time. So I would recommend that you use the soap eventually!
